That really wanted to add Eichel - but only at the right cost without moving an impact piece off our roster.
Think most people here thought that something like Monahan, Valimaki, Zary, 1st (YYC), 2nd (FLA), (Pitlick for cap), was the move that would make sense for us for both this season, and long term.
I still think that would have worked for the Flames because we probably could have survived Monahan not being in the lineup, and wouldn't have been so dependent on Eichel needing to come in and perform immediately as a first line center when he joined the line up.
He'd be a lot more sheltered by Backlund and Lindholm on the Flames roster right now than he is on this current heavily injured Vegas roster.

Well if you can make that deal you do it for sure. But there’s still be hell to pay next year cap wise. Monahan and Valimaki’s hit don’t cut it, and I think one of Mangiapane, Tkachuk or maybe even both would fall victim.
