It's not ideal, but code doesn't require any minimum separation between the spigot and the receptacle. You have to have the while-in-use cover for any outdoor receptacle within 2.5 m of grade and protection of a GFCI anyway, whether the receptacle is 'close' to the faucet or not, because it's exposed to weather.
