No doubt it's a legit risk, but we also have to look at the fact that Monahan isn't playing an impact role on this team right now(on ice). Hopefully if any move is considered, the GM has the right pulse on the impact to the room.
People also have to factor in, if a move isn't made right now involving Monahan (which I'm sure is still the most likely scenario) and we don't win a cup this year (also the most likely scenario, even if we have a deep run) people are going to forget these fears of disrupting the chemistry very quickly. If BT runs out of runway in the offseason to make the required moves to either make room for our key re-signings, or to backfill for them with other trades because Mony's contract is still on the books, no one is going to be giving BT a pass because he didn't want to disrupt the chemistry.
I don't think a Mony move is going to be possible before deadline, but if BT has a chance to upgrade the roster on paper, and help set up our offseason more optimistically, how can he not at least consider it? The folks with the team will know more than we will on what removing him would do to chemistry, hopefully they have the right read.

I'm pretty sure Treliving won't pass on a really good trade for Monahan because of chemistry. I expect that if it's marginal or only a chance that the trade improves the team it's not a move he will make unless it also makes sense for next year's cap.
