Yeah it’s completely idiotic. Just make sure any set backs from the house and property line are in compliance. Worst that will happen one day is you get a $330 fine. But that’s never going to actually happen.
I’m 100% pro permits, for the record. But in your situation I can’t think of a bigger waste of time and money. For everyone involved.
