If Oilers keep oiling as only the Oilers can oil then the Canucks... kind of have their own destiny in their hands? Vegas looks like a hot mess and the Canucks play them three times before the season is done.
I've said it many times, the Canucks aren't making the play-offs. I've said that because the math to a wild card spot just did not make sense and in my mind for this team to make the play-offs it would be in a wild card spot.
But now? It's still super unlikely but that third Pacific spot is actually in play. Certainly more in play than a wild card spot. Like, with the math, there is actually a possibility the Canucks are in 3rd place of the pacific as early as next weekend. Giving up games in hand, but on raw points they're in there. It's certainly a lot harder to temper excitement than it was even two weeks ago. I'm the Larry David gif on what to do at the trade deadline. If they sold high and got a huge haul on guys? That's good but this group deserves a chance so if they stand pat? That's good too. Just as long as they're not out there shopping for rentals.
