Even if it's mostly older Soviet junk, I would assume it would still take quite a bit of time and money to rebuild, potentially having them rethink, or at least delay, any other "denazification" operations in the near future. But perhaps that's wishful thinking, and a 1000 vehicles is just a rounding error in the big picture.
