I think it’s easy to forget that Hanafin is still just 25 years old yet he’s closing in on 500 games played already with 489. There is still runway left for him to peak which is crazy to think because it feels like Lindy and Hanifin have been here forever and he’s taken noticeable steps in his game under Sutter as most players have.

Free agent signings are scary the day you sign them. You hope on a longer term deal you get half the contract good, some average and maybe a year of stinker.
Signing a guy that helped develop two other defenseman in his first two years on a contract is a huge bonus.
Tanev has made such a huge impact.
