I had the idea way back in University in 1996 to be a ski jumper, since we weren't sending a team in Nagano and the team was in disarray (I assumed) as a result.
Facilities right in town (I know, another thread) would be easy to train, although you'd have to make the minimum IOC/FIS requirement (assumebly raised after Eddie the Eagle in 1988), you make whatever Top 100 in the world, and then go to Nagano for a week/ten days, finish 85th, and party your face off.
Never got past that stage...
