I don't know how seriously you can take someone that dresses up in a costume with a cape to fight crime.
I am fine with drama, suspense dark tone etc. But a superhero movie that takes itself too seriously might always have a problem appealing to a broader audience.
I will still see it since I'm a nerd at heart.
