Definitely seems to skate on the very edge of control, a very risk vs reward style.
In this case, I think he was trying to spin counterclockwise (on the TV angle) to get away from Hartman. Problem was Hartman had his stick tangled up and held so as Kylington started to spin, that resistance from him not able to spin freely had his hand both stick and ride ride up the stick and have his body twist, and end up in the awkward position.
