General public does not seem to buy it at all. However, the problem is that given this war has no precedence, citizens are struggling to figure out whether it's going "as expected", better or worse. Because we all don't really know what is supposed to be "expected" in this kind of war. This allows for a lot of goalposts-moving propaganda.
