I took my cats into the vet this morning and the vet said they are taking all precautions. This rat poison causes kidney failure, which is what the vets started noticing an alarming rate of. But it takes a while for them to collaborate, find that it's the food, and then find that it all goes back to this site in Kansas.
The vet said they have done more urine tests this past week than they did in January and February combined. Most of it was likely unnecessary; cat owners not even using the brands mentioned asking to get their pet tested anyway.
BTW, my cat Diablo got her teeth cleaned this morning. She's still pretty pissed off at me for leaving her at the vets all day. I tried to explain to her that it was for her own good (see Sylvanfan's post), but she's having none of it.
