So it went from hypothetical, to f me it's potentially real, to oh #### something else is more serious.
I don't think it's coincidence that Putin is striking when he feels COVID won't derail him, and Western governments have not recovered from financial and other issues. There will not be a more opportune time. Everyone else has spent 2 years ignoring geo-political issues, why would he wait for the west to get settled?

The worst part about this is Trump's election was all part of Putin's operation. Taking that into consideration and the last two conflicts with Ukraine and his entire project to restore Soviet glory had been decades in the making. Every time the West is playing catch up having done nothing until after it has already happened while having been well aware of what Putin is doing. Not really sure what the right steps are to address that obvious gap.
