Another example are people in rush hour that make dual turns where there aren't any. I come up 1st street and then cut down 6th to Centre. Its two lanes, one that goes straight and one to turn right on 6th. Usually the righ lane to turn is backed up quite far so you wait. But there's always one or two guys that go up the left lane and then turn right anyways.

I'm on the fence on this one. When I was Beijing, there are rules to the road but they're followed more like "guidelines". If you need to get somewhere then you are openly allowed to break the rules (within reason). It's kind of frightening at first, but there is method to the madness which allows millions of cars on the road flow relatively smooth.People seem to e a lot more courteous as well, for whatever reason.If you need to pass someone in oncoming trffic go ahead....put on your hazards and give 'er. People assumme you're in a rush for something so by all means, they'll get out of your way.
