Would make me hesitate in making him the GM. Love the guy, and he's great for sports radio, but if the team said no comment you wonder about his filter.

He's never had a filter. It's why he's always been a great interview. Maybe as a GM he could curb it but it would definitely be a cause for concern for any team considering hiring him as GM.
My take from his comment is that the Flames want to keep him and will try but it's kind of out of their control now unless they blow the doors off him with an 8 year deal or something and I'm not sure if that's ideal long term.
