But in all honesty, I would also contend the monetary intervention by the feds is a gross overreach in this case. You might agree with the policy now because you disagree with the protestors in this case, but it sets a dangerous precedent and suspect we'll see some blowback from this.

Given that the protestors were led by people who wanted to bypass parliament and strike their manifesto with the GG and senate; had high profile members who are known white supremacists; have a large number among them carrying F Trudeau and Trudope signs; count among their fringe protesters who were armed, waved nazi and confederate flags, and/or are on a mission from God….what are the odds that he could have done anything to lower the temperature? No doubt he inflamed it but these folks were already inflamed. Remember the same signs and rocks being thrown during the election? So yeah he didn’t respond well but if you’re suggesting that triggered the whole chain of events is disingenuous.
I agree with you about the financial stuff - if the EMA gave police the ability or even just the push to physically remove the blockades that should have been enough
