To be honest it’s less about the cost per cup and more about the experience of getting out of the house, either while WFH or just on a random weekend, or just having something I don’t have supplies for at home.

I’ve got a decent grinder and a French press for our morning brew, but I’ve no desire to purchase an espresso machine or learn the ins & outs of steaming milk. On a sunny afternoon I’d rather enjoy the walk to the local shop & drop a few bucks for a treat.

Yes I could get all the equipment & supplies for a mocha at home, and it would be cheaper per serving… but the experience of making it myself and continuing to stay in the house wouldn’t be the same.
