Of the 23 guys on the team for opening night, I predicted that the Flames had 15 guys that belonged on an NHL roster. I also thought it would be a real long (i.e. tough, boring, frustrating) year.
Of those 23, now I’d say 18 of those original 23 guys belong, with Dubé and Monahan only getting re-added to the NHLer pile this week. Plus adding Toffoli and getting Ruzicka up gives the Flames an NHLer in every spot every night.
The Flames have done an excellent job at playing their good players and keeping their scraps out of high-leverage situations.
Now I think the Flames will be having a long (i.e. many playoff games) year.
