Let me tell you something Sonny. I remember going to a game in 19 ough 17 between the Montreal Canadians and the Toronto Blueshirts. I bought a ticket for a 2 pence that I had saved up for by working in the mines using my 8 year old baby sized hands to clear obstructions in the machines. I remember the 30 day ride by wagon train to get to that game while suffering from black lung.
That game was a site to see I tells you, it was about 90 below and we used dogs as blankets to keep us warm. There was no forward pass, and there were 6 skaters to a side plus the goalie. I remember when Joe Malone went behind the net to pick up the puck and sliced the toes off of the goal judges boots. He swung around the net and was stopped on a brilliant defensive play by Rusty Crawford who spit tabacco juice in his face and stole the puck.
The forward pass and all of these new fangled la dee da ideas have just ruined the purity of the game.
