My brother in law bought a Kia Forte 5 a few years ago and it seems like a really well thought out car in terms of usability. I don’t know much about the maintenance costs etc., but he has been fairly happy with it. The only downside has been that he has gotten stuck in the snow in our cup-de-sac, since the snow tends to accumulate right in front of our house
