I'm not saying that having a few [more] lunatic MPs would have prevented any of this, but it at least would do a lot to undermine the senseless arguments around rigged elections or not having anyone actually listen in the HoC.

This is quite honestly the only way out of this mess IMHO. When Trudeau was first elected I was a bit ho hum on this type of electoral reform (before he reneged on it), but at least you give everyone a some degree of a voice and like it or not, this goes a long way to keeping the kettle from spilling over like it has here.
