No team can win much at the highest level when it is built around a player who has such a low work rate. This isn't a criticism of Ronaldo, it is just a statement of fact. He's 37 years old, and there haven't been many (any?) players, particularly strikers or wingers, who can put in a regular shift week in and week out at that age. It was a feel good vanity project that was made for commercial reasons, not footballing reasons, and the current state of the club more than proves it.
Look at the amount of work guys like Mane, Firmino, Jota, and Salah put in each week. They're tracking back, forcing turnovers, trapping defenders into bad situations where they are forced to make bad passes upfield, and they consistently press as a unit to put the opposition under pressure. Manchester United are built around trying to play long balls upfield to a player who is clearly well past his prime, and unable to track balls in the channels down. His goal today was a perfect example. Wait for someone else to cause a turnover and play the ball to him, then score with an isolated shot totally against the run of play. I agree that he'd do well in MLS, as that is one of the few leagues he'd be able to get away with such a low amount of effort.

We barely read your irrational takes at a sentence or two.
Then all that? Cmon lad.
