Writing something off the second it happens is something extra. At least the Flames are trying. Isn't that better than standing pat and having a smaller chance of making a run?
I wouldn't spend more than 5 minutes of my time with someone that negative/cynical.
Obviously only 1 of 32 teams succeeds each year, but the fun is in the gambles like this and the ride there, and that slim chance of it paying off.
Negative historians just rob themselves and others of that fun for no good reason.
