The focus will be to re-sign Gaudreau, which I think may cost us Eatbread, sadly. Tkachuk will stick around for at least one more year, but it could get dicey after that. Just the reality of a cap world.
Not all doom and gloom though. We'll have those players, or assets in trade or cap space to do something. Obviously a strong preference to keep Johnny and Tkachuk as long as possible.
The part I wonder about is whether the revenue issues/flat cap might mean there are more short term deals? Hard to say if that benefits the Flames, but I could see more 1 or 2 year terms for many UFAs instead of the longer term monster deals.
