I find this VGK scenario a lot less annoying than the TBL one. Assuming Capfriendly's daily tracker is correct, all of VGK's players (except Eichel) have been counting against the cap for at least 1/3 of the total season length.
Even Eichel counted against BUF's cap for the first 23 days, and if he plays from Wed to the end of the season it will be another 72 days.
Perhaps there should be some more limits on LTIR, but IMO VGK's players will have all 'earned' their playoff eligibility.
