It's a fair number of assets to give up. But it does offer the chance at a big time upgrade to the forward ranks that the team does need.
My old world brain that judges more on feel than analytics thinks this is a good move and a good fit. Last year I was pretty critical of some of the Flames spending where I thought Tafoli's price seemed well within reach where the team could have made a play to sign him. Of course not knowing all the factors that resulted in him picking Montreal. So I am happy to see him on the team today. Hopefully he's in line for back to back cup runs and will see a better result this time.
