Tkachuk and Backlund have played well together in the past and it spreads out the scoring.

You don't mess with the top line. Most games, they are outplaying the opposition's top line, and they're great on both sides of the puck, being three of the top five in the league in +/- (which, with two of them on the PP but not the PK, means more than it usually does). And they way the Backlund line is going, you don't mess with them either, for now. So Monahan, who has played previously with Toffoli, gets a massive upgrade from Ritchie on the RW of his line. Now it's time for Monahan to show if he can still be productive with a quality winger.
