Then a few minutes later he rejoins the rest of the gang carrying a bunch of them on his back still. Did he stumble across the entire city with them just hanging on? Then of course he gets shot a bunch of times (not nearly enough given how slow and big a target he is out in the open) but is fine to join the escape and even fight the droid later. That’s GoT Battle of Winterfell stuff right there.
Speaking of which, unless Boba somehow snuck the rancor into a nearby building earlier, he sure did manage to get back to the palace, retrieve it and return in a pretty damn short period of time. Another trick from the Daenerys Dragon Rescue manual.

i'm assuming he went back to the palace. earlier in the battle he fired the rocket from his jet pack. when he returns on the rancor, he's got another rocket loaded into the jet pack
