Meadowlands-Devils GM Mike Walsh called yet another press conference Sunday morning to announce that the Devils have resigned winger Teemu Selanne to a new 3 year contract worth 21 million for 7 million per season. Included in this deal is a no trade clause and it is a one way contract.
"Teemu has come to the Devils and has been our MVP thus far. We are so thankful to Teemu and his agent for accepting our proposal of a decrease in pay. Because of his acceptance of the pay cut we felt that we should reward Teemu with the no trade clause" Walsh said. Walsh continued to say "with the extra money that Teemu would have been getting we are looking for another player or 2 that can help us make a good run for the playoffs."
Teemu was unavailable for comment as the team was preparing for the game against the Lightning today.
