Isn't the definition of plagiarism reproducing something without the permission of the author? If you're copying your own work, isn't that a little hard to prove?
I wouldn't call it academic dishonesty, I'd call it academic laziness. Besides, by changing your own work you might even call it "Academic
refinement"
