This is building on a post I made in another thread regarding the Flames being contenders. I just took a look at how they have fared against the top competition so far.

Update with Vegas and Washington added:

Here are the Flames numbers against the top 12 opponents in the NHL by Pts% (Flames are now 10th):

Team / H2H Record / GF-GA

Colorado (0-0-0) 0-0

Carolina (0-1-1) 4-8

Florida (1-1-0) 7-7

Toronto (1-0-1) 6-4

Tampa (0-1-0) 1-4

Minnesota (0-0-0) 0-0

NY Rangers (2-0-0) 11-1

Pittsburgh (2-0-0) 6-1

Nashville (0-0-0) 0-0

St. Louis (1-1-0) 8-6

Vegas (1-1-0) 8-3

Washington (1-0-0) 4-3

Overall Record: 9-5-2

Points% .625

7 Home games 9 Road Games

GF 55 - GA 37

Goal differential: +18

Essentially, if the Flames played only against the top 1/3rd of the NHL, they would still be on pace for 102.5 points.
