Wild Win Big Against Ducks
Hot or Cold? Looking at the Wild's recent play it is difficult to determine which they are.

On one hand, Thursday's loss against the Canucks was their first in 8 games. However, with two ties prior to that loss, Minnesota was also winless in 3 games going into today's matchup against the Ducks.

The Wild hope today's impressive performance against Anaheim answers that question. A 6-2 win that featured Minnesota's typical balanced scoring, impressive special teams, and steady goaltending from Jocelyn Thibault.

The offense was led by Scott Hannan with 2 goals (and a team leading 5 hits), Sami Kapanen (1 goal, 2 assists) and Andrew Brunette (1 goals, 1 assist). Meanwhile the Wild defense limited the Ducks to just 20 shots overall, including just 5 in the third, which has been a weak period of late for the Wild.

Minnesota GM and Head Coach Grant Farhall commented on the game.

"It was nice to see us get better as the game progressed. Recently our third period have been poor but today we put together a full 60 minutes".

Minnesota faces a tough match-up tomorrow against the Habs. It was unclear if Jocelyn Thibault would get the start, or backup Garth Snow.

Game Notes
- Richard Zednik led the team with 6 shots, but could not pot a goal. He did have two assists.
- David Legwand played his first game back from injury and registered a single assist
- The Wild's third line had a poor night, going -2 in the game.
