Spoiler!
If they were built to protect humans from Deviants, why were their powers all over the map and not just focused on that task? Like they were not supposed to interfere with humans, but one guy's power was mind control?
Also, if they completed their task 500 years ago, why didn't they just leave at that point?
Finally, the scale of the Celestials appeared to be wildly inconsistent, from bigger than earth to simply giant-sized.
I guess I'll spoiler
Spoiler!
They were told their mission was to protect us against Deviants, but the Celestials don't really care about people or Deviants, we are insignificant at our scale. Their mission was to inspire enough mental energy for Tiamut to feed on, push us with just enough knowledge that we could grown smarter, healthier and spread across the entire world.
The Didn't leave because Ajax knew the real task, and told the others they were waiting for orders from Arishem. Ajax changed her mind after the unblipping, seeing the potential of humans like Tony to have Celestial scale impacts on the universe and deciding the birth of one celestial was not worth the death of billions of humans, not this planet this time.
That's pretty much what I took to be the character motivations
Scale, IDK it's like Thor or Caps strength, how strong are they? as strong as the guy they are fighting. How big are they? big enough to inspire awe.
