Poe is the only reason the goddamn turtle chase even lasted as long as it did. if he didn't lead a pack of stupidly designed literal WW2 bombers to destroy the Fleet Killer Dreadnaught, then that thing would have been there when the Resistance dropped out of hyperspace, and used its giant gun to murder the flagship much quicker.
the only mistake Poe made was not taking out the super canons himself, since he went through all the trouble of single handedly disabling every one of the dreadnaught's regular turbolasers but was too lazy to fly underneath and finish the job.
