I don't believe silencing is the right answer, and I don't think he needs to change is guests list. listening to differing opinions is what makes it interesting. I do however think this brings up two things.
1. People have not learned despite having the internet all these years that, unless it is reputable news source it cannot be trusted, this goes the same for a podcast. It is an opinion based, entertainment setup.
2. Spotify and Joe Rogan, need to make it clear (unfortunately) that you need to know what a podcast is, it is opinioned based, Spotify and Joe might not even agree with everything said. Research, whether that means talking to your doctor or some other forms for non-Covid related needs to be preached.
I think it is disgusting the racial comments were made but I believe him when he released his apology on those comments. Their is long history of people saying those statements, that are not racist but have not been educated. Unfortunately their will be more, from other popular figures in the world.
I don't think cancelling is the way to go and I believe that is to easy of a way out for companies. I think Joe and others can really turn this into a positive by bringing some education to the world.
