Where did I make excuses for any owners. They are going to do what they want right or wrong. The reason Tomlin is the one of the longest tenured head coaches isn't because he's black. It's because he's a good head coach and got a job with a stable organization. Leftwich may turn into a top level head coach one day but if he takes the Jags job he could be one and done and we will never know how good of a head coach he could have been. I don't feel bad for him not getting that job as he will get a far better opportunity in the coming years. Look at the list of Jaguars head coaches. You have to go back to JDR for the last one that got another gig. The rest of them will ever get work again as a head coach.
