On one hand I think that your right. Tkachuck and Gaudreau are both playing for a big raise/ might not sign with the team again.
On the other hand, the Flames are finally recovering from the being too greedy and trading away too many 1st and 2nd round picks drying up our well of prospects almost completely.
I wouldn't complain if the Flames wanted to make a push. But the 1st and 2nd round pick along with Zary, Pelletier and Coronato should be off the table no matter what.
Dube and Valimaki are the most valuable pieces the Flames should work with.
