He has made his partners better players as well. Last year it was Hanifin. This year Kylington. He is the Backlund of the back end in that regard.

I will give Brodie some credit, as he has managed to vastly improve his defensive/shut down game. He's playing well in that role in Toronto. However, he's not as good as Tanev, more expensive, less gritty/easier to play against, and only about 7 months younger.
