Either scenario suggests how far Harper's "Conservatism" has drifted away from "conservatism" -- meaning a genuine belief in smaller government, lower taxes and prudent management of the public purse.
What we're getting instead is either reckless overspending or more of the same fiscal smoke and mirrors we used to get from the Liberals.
Either way, it means that in the next election, there will be no truly "conservative" party on the ballot. Just in case you thought we had one.
