Today if the first time in lime 3ish years I've been off Cape Breton Island.
Just in Halifax for the night as my wife has a doctor's appointment tomorrow. While she's doing an online class in the hotel, I went for a walk to see how downtown Halifax has changed since I was here last in the sumer of 2019 I think... and essentially comparing it to when I lived here.
Oh man, seeing a different city, different buildings, the changes, it's inspiring. It was like a weight wa shifted off my shoulders I didn't know I had.
It was cathartic walking around in -10°C (feels like -17°C) weather just seeing new places, new buildings, new things.
I'm having a pint in a pub I haven't been in since 2005/2006?
My wife and I literally high five crossing the Canso Causeway as we were feeling trapped due to COVID.
Split Crow man, I needed this. I had no idea how much.
See a new city, see an old city that's changed, new walls, it's amazing... I forgot how much.

Just a second here...isn't that just feeling good? Doesn't inspire mean to make you want to do something creative or productive related to the thing that inspired you? Like, it sounds like being in Halifax made you feel good and it helped you shed some stress to be somewhere you like. I mean, yeah, I have that all the time, too, when I do something rewarding.
I have an annual snowboard trip planned with my friends in three weeks. I can't wait for it as we skipped last year. I think I'll have all the feelings you just described when we're hanging out in the condos and then riding for a few days. But that's not
inspiring.
A lot of the things I'm reading in here are very positive, but I think some of you guys are unclear on what inspiration is.
