I don't understand the ease in which some want the Flames to trade their first round pick and top prospects for players who would play less that a season here.
I doubt adding one player is going to make or break the Flames playoff success. The guys they have here will be the ones making or breaking their playoff success.

The better question might be how many teams win the cup or even finals without TDL adds?
Adding and getting swept is one thing, but if your team needs to take a step forward in its progression or is in all-in mode (PIT) then it can be more justified.
IMO this is an all-in year for Calgary. But in 2020 I vocally supported selling (though perhaps still acquiring cheaper replacements)
