Bennett was given chances in Calgary but could never capitalize on them. I think it's fair probably to say that the coaches didn't have a lot of patience with him, but he also didn't play up to his potential. He was in a downward spiral where his confidence and attitude were likely not letting him progress. It sucks that it got to that point and that is a failure on this organization, but some of that is on Bennett too.

Tippett is similar in the way that he was given chances and couldn't make good on them, and Florida has better options than to be patient. It's also worth mentioning that Tippett is younger than Valimaki, Dube, Gawdin, and Phillips. All players that most fans still seem to believe have NHL potential. He is also younger than Kylington who just put it together this season.
