I am probably wrong, but wouldn't that mean that they can still keep spending about $5 million over the cap?
Klefbolm and Archibald are not coming back this season, but $2.2 million comes off of the LTIR when Smith comes back. Still, should be just enough room to have Kane and not have to make any moves (I think).
Of course, things pro-rate over the season, and so on... so it is just a rough guess.

I explained it above.
But when you're using LTIR you gotta remember 2 things:
1) Players on LTIR count towards your cap
2) You don't bank any LTIR cap space, so if you're over the cap including your LTIR $ then you don't bank anything and nothing pro-rates (if you're not using LTIR and are $2m under the cap, you can take on player making $4M for half a season, if you're over the cap but have $2M in LTIR space, you can only sign a player who makes $2M no matter when you do it)
