One opponent is clearly the lesser of the two and out of conference so only 2 point game. The other opponent is 2nd in the conference and represents a 4 point swing in overall conference standings. I'm going to start by best guy in the 4 point game against the better opponent because IMO that's the better decision. I'm sure Darryl has his reasons and it probably has to do with giving Markstrom an extra day off before facing the Canucks.

The trend for a lot of NHL coaches right now seems to be starting your top-goalie in the most "winnable" game in a back-to-back. This has been a pretty consistent tactic for a couple seasons now.
