First of all I think Mangiapane is great, and I don't think the Flames should be looking to trade him. I do think we have an interesting situation in the off season where we have to sign 3 of the top LWs in the game.
Both Mangiapane and Miller have a year of team control after this one. Mangipane is getting paid significantly less this year, but that might change next year. As far as production goes I think Miller averaged much higher PPG as far as his last few seasons, but Mangiapane seems to produce more chances at even strength. In that case it comes down to positional need, and Miller is a center.
What do you guys think? will such a trade make the Flames better or worse? Also what do you see the Flames doing when it comes to the cap crunch this summer? The Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Mangiapane, and Kylington raises are not likely to be covered by Zadorov, Gudbranson, and Pitlick being replaced by league min guys.

Don’t like it. Flames need to add not make a lateral type move. Miller is better than Mangiapane today but is 4 years older and opens a hole. Millet ends up playing the wing after this deal as the flames are down one of their top 6 wingers.
If the Flames add Miller it needs to be more futures based.
All the talk on the radio this afternoon has been Monahan and the tale of 2 seasons and how much he has improved since the start of December. Maybe the need shifts back to a top 6 wing instead of a center? Cheaper and more options.
