For me this is the best Football weekend of the season. All 8 of these teams are all capable of winning the game today and ultimately getting to the Superbowl, so hopefully we get 4 really good games. Although a comfortable K.C. win will probably save the last hairs on my head. Of course you all know what a bad fan I am, so a Buffalo win will serve to replace what I lost betting on the Steelers to cover the spread last week....
Well here is how I'm seeing todays games.
Bengals at Titans
Looks like both teams got good news on the injury front as Trey Hendrickson is cleared to play for the Bengals, and the Titans will have Henry active, and don't have anyone else listed at this point in time. It's a cool day in Nashville with the temperature around 0° Celsius. But no wind and it's pretty clear, so I don't think the weather is much of a factor.
Current line that I'm seeing is Titans -4 and the over under is up to 48.5
The Titans are a team that I think the betting market has under valued all season long. They're about as healthy today as they have been all season. Derrick Henry will add something to them, but as I've noted in a lot of other posts, they still ran the ball effectively without him, it was having a big time WR in A.J. Brown to give them some threat in the passing game that seemed to have a bigger impact on the team.
The Bengals are still a dangerous team as Chase, Higgins and Mixon plus Boyd and Uzomah are as good a weapon set for a QB to work with as any other team. Than add in Joe Burrow to QB the whole thing and they are capable of pulling it off. Truthfully I'd love to see them beat the Titans.
But the Titans are the better team at the line of scrimmage. They have the better coach, and they have some playoff experience. The Bengals finally winning last week was a big deal for them. But the Titans goals are higher, and I think today we'll see the Titans win this one pretty handily. I'll predict 27-17 as the Titans defence shows up and keeps the Bengals in check early and run out to a large first half lead and steer it home.
Confident enough to bet the Titans to cover, but would prefer to avoid that 48.5 total. I think the Titans defence and ball control could keep it under, but not confident enough to lay money on that.
49'ers at Packers
At this time the line is at Green Bay -5.0 and the Over Under is up to 47.5
Both teams look like some key guys are banged up but will play tonight. Although I think Bosa and Garappolo are the two most significant of the injured players.
Looks to be a cold game with the temperature at -11 to -12 and a bit of wind and light snow. Jimmy Garappolo has never started a game where the temperature at kick off was below 5°C. So for me this will be a huge advanage for everyone's favorite Vaccine opponent and patient of Dr. Joe Rogan. He might be an ass...but he's the best thrower in the NFL, and I think he'll be able to throw a lot better than a gimped up Garappolo.
But San Francisco may be able to stick in this game because they can run the ball, and they can be creative in running the ball with Deebo plus I expect they'll try to find ways to get Kittle and Juscyzk also getting the ball in runs or short passes. Green Bay can struggle defending the run especially a team like San Francisco who can get a guy like Samuel involved in that part of the game.
I want to pick the 49'ers to cover, but I don't think they'll be able to knock off this Green Bay team in Lambeau, and I think if they get behind and have to throw the ball, they'll get into a lot of trouble. I'll take the Packers to win this 24-21. Not sure I'll bet anything on this game save some in game amusement bets.
