Any pending UFA you acquire is a rental. You can negotiate with him just like Flames can with Gaudreau but you have no certainty. As for Sutter he is signed for one more year. Maybe we wants to coach longer than that, maybe not.
All players and coaches are rentals, it’s a question of how long.
