I actually just listened to 960 and they actually discussed that Briere actually did put some time into learning the ropes in the Flyers organization so maybe I discounted his abilities somewhat. I just think it's too quick to go from player to GM in five years. Still I think the NHL could really benefit from bringing in bright minds that aren't ex-players. I think some of the ex-player biases have been part of why the NHL is kind of a dinosaur league at times.
