There’s one moment in the Green Knight that’s wholly unnecessary and ends up undermining the entire rest of the film.

When Gawain is tempted by his host’s wife (and fails the test) she looks down at his junk briefly, smirks, and says ‘you are no knight.’ Cut to a shot of splooge.

I really liked the Green Knight as a film, and it’s my favorite Arthurian myth.

But that scene severely limits who I can recommend this film to - I have to know you’re the sort of viewer who can handle seeing splooge in a film that’s not porn.

I would say, as a general policy for filmmakers, you don’t need the shot of splooge. The implication is enough. No need to give Grandma a heart attack during the Green Knight.
