The Cowboys are the Cowboys. Just as the Leafs are the Leafs, the Oilers are the Oilers, the Knicks are the Knicks etc.... Each is it's own unique entity of suck. The only thing that kinda ties them together is annoying, loud fan bases who haven't won anything remotely recent, yet talk more than most other teams fan bases who have won something recently. Also, I guess the expectation that even when the circumstances should lead you to believe they'll win, you know in your mind they will find a way to lose, also ties them together. Yesterday was a perfect example, the Cowboys clearly were the better team in the regular season, but you just never trust them to win a big game. You also never trust McCarthy ever, under any circumstances. If he gets fired from this yesterday then it's not such a bad loss for the Cowboys. If he comes back then it's a catastrophe.
